Schitt's Creek Star Joins The Last Of Us Season 2
Schitt's Creek star Catherine O'Hara has confirmed she is in talks to appear in The Last of Us Season 2. In a fan Q&A on Watch What Happens Live, O'Hara was asked if there is truth to the rumor that she's joining the show in Season 2, and she seemed surprised anyone even heard about that being a possibility. Update: HBO has now confirmed that O'Hara will appear in The Last of Us Season 2
"How do you know these things?" she said (via Entertainment Weekly), before confirming that "yeah," she is in discussions to join the show for its sophomore season. O'Hara also pointed out that her son is a set dresser on the series.
It's unknown who O'Hara might play on The Last of Us. Season 2 is set to introduce a number of characters not seen in Season 1, and so far we've learned that Kaitlyn Dever will play Abby, Isabela Merced will play Dina, and Young Mazino will play Jesse.
O'Hara has been a professional actor for decades. People also may remember her for playing Kevin's mom in the Home Alone series. She plays Ruth in the movie Argylle, which is in theaters now.
Season 2 of The Last of Us is due to enter production this month, and despite breaking a limb, star Pedro Pascal (Joel) says he will be ready to go. Season 2 will release in 2025.
It's expected that Season 2 of The Last of Us will cover at least some of the events of The Last of Us: Part II the game, and fans are aware of all the drama and intrigue that entails. The show is expected to continue for a few more seasons, running between 3-5 seasons.
As for the game series, Naughty Dog recently cancelled The Last of Us Online but still has two new single-player games in the works.
