Among Us Animated Series Teaser Drops First-Look Image
CBS Studios has unveiled a first-look teaser image for the upcoming animated series based on the wildly popular game Among Us. The show is a collaboration between CBS Eye Animation Productions and Innersloth, the independent game studio behind the game.
The game's official accounts shared the below teaser image across its social media platforms, offering a glimpse into the animated adaptation. Owen Dennis, under his CBS Studios deal, will serve as the creator and executive producer. The series mirrors the game's premise, where crew members face the challenge of identifying an alien shapeshifter among them, wreaking havoc on the spaceship.
Animation studio Titmouse (Big Mouth, Star Trek: Lower Decks), will bring the Among Us series to life. Executive producers include Forest Willard, Marcus Bromander, and Carl Neisser from Innersloth, along with Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina from Titmouse. No specific network or streaming platform has been attached to the project yet, with ongoing discussions presumably continuing.
The Among Us game, which launched in 2018, experienced a surge in popularity in 2020, reaching the top spot on Google Play in multiple countries. Boasting nearly 500 million monthly active players in Q4 2020, the game evolved into a global phenomenon, amassing billions of views on YouTube and Twitch. In 2022, a virtual reality version was released, followed by a PlayStation version in 2023.
The adaptation was first announced as in development in June 2023. No release window for Among Us has been announced.
