PS5 Update Out Now, Adds New Parties And Headset Features
A new PS5 update is out, but this time, it won't just be focused on improving system stability. PS5 users can expect to see new audio settings and enhancements for Pulse Explore earbuds and the upcoming Pulse Elite headset added to their console, alongside new features for the Parties function.
For PS5 earbuds users, there'll be new equalizer settings, a Sidetone feature to help you hear your voice in chats, and improved connectivity notifications. These enhancements will also be available for the Pulse Elite headset when it launches next month. The Pulse Explore earbuds launched last November alongside the PlayStation Portal.
A closer look at the new Equalizer setting.Available for $200, these are Bluetooth earbuds for PS5, PC, and Mac, and they also come with a charging case, PlayStation Link adapter, and six earbud tips. Additionally, they're equipped with dual microphones for chat and onboard AI to improve the audio. The upcoming Pulse Elite headset is designed to offer more premium features, such as a stronger battery, more advanced audio, and multi-device connectivity.
If you're a regular user of the Parties function, you can expect to see a list of parties you've joined in the past and an option to restart these group conversations. For the full patch notes, you can see the list below of everything new in the 1.18GB update.

We've added new features in Parties.
- In the Parties tab, you can now see the list of parties you've joined in the past. You can easily restart a party just by selecting it from the Recent list.
We've updated the device software for the PULSE Explore wireless earbuds.
- You can now use the sound equalizer feature.
- You can now use the sidetone feature, which makes it easier for you to hear your own voice in voice chats.
When you have a Pulse Explore wireless earbuds nearby, a notification will now appear to let you connect to them quickly. You can now easily switch the connection from your PC to your PS5 through this notification.
