Palworld Hits 5 Million Copies Sold, But Doesn't Beat PUBG's Player Record
The "Pokemon with guns" game Palworld continues to put up big numbers. The game, which launched on January 19, has now sold more than 5 million copies worldwide.
The game sells for $27 on Steam and $30 on Xbox, so quick math shows that this game has probably already earned many, many millions of dollars for developer Pocketpair. It's also available on Xbox Game Pass, so it very may well have reached more than 5 million people already.
Additionally, Palworld has now reached the third-highest peak concurrent player record on Steam, surpassing 1.5 million concurrent players on Valve's platform. Only CS: GO (1.8 million) and PUBG (3.2 million) have reached higher peak concurrent player counts than Palworld. CS: GO is a free game, but PUBG set its record when it was a paid game prior to its transition to free-to-play.

Palworld sold 1 million copies in its first eight hours and kept rising from there, selling more than 86,000 copies per hour at one point.
Palworld is available in Early Access on Steam and via Game Preview on Xbox. There is no word yet on if Palworld will come to PlayStation 5, but it hasn't been ruled out.
